Italy Adds 2,022 Mw/3,836 Mwh Of Distributed Storage Capacity in 2023

Italy added 0.22 MW / 836 MWh of distributed storage capacity in 2023, bringing the country's cumulative distributed storage capacity to 0.367 MW / 645 MWh. Lithium-ion technology powers most of these systems, with a total of 51,475 units. The region with the highest deployment is Lombardy. Italy had 51,950 distributed storage systems linked to renewable energy projects at the end of December 2022, marking the strongest growth ever recorded for storage deployment in the country.
