The NC Clean Energy Technology Center (NCCETC) released its Q1 2024 edition of "The 50 States of Solar" report, which highlights state regulatory and legislative actions on distributed solar policy. In Q1 2024, 43 states, plus D.C. and Puerto Rico, took some type of distributed solar policy action, with the most actions concerning net-metering policies, residential fixed charge or minimum bills, and community solar policies. Trends include legislation to enable community solar programs, net-metering reform efforts, and clarification of net-metering rules for customers on time-of-use rates.
