Burns & Mcdonnell to Epc Two Solar Projects in Iowa for Alliant Energy

Burns & McDonnell has been awarded Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts for two solar projects in Iowa for Alliant Energy. The company will self-perform construction for the 150-MW Wever project in Lee County and the 50-MW Creston project in Union County. AZC, Burns & McDonnell's union construction subsidiary, will handle construction with a majority of the workforce coming from local trades. The integrated approach is evident on the Wever project due to its floodplain location, requiring extra planning, permitting, and engineered solutions. Innovative technologies are being applied for efficient and environmentally sustainable construction, and 3 miles of underground cable will be installed at each site.
