A UK-based startup, Robotiz3d, has developed an autonomous electric vehicle named Arres Prevent, which uses advanced AI to detect and seal cracks in a road's surface to prevent potholes. This innovation aims to save public money and reduce hassle for citizens by reducing the time, cost, emission, and material waste associated with road maintenance and repair services. The robot can identify and localize potholes, characterize their geometry, collect measurements, and even deposit sealing materials autonomously or via remote operator control. Hertfordshire County Council is impressed with the technology and plans to officially welcome it to their team soon.
