Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is partnering with Allye Energy, a new startup, to repurpose used Range Rover PHEV batteries for portable battery energy storage systems (BESS). This collaboration extends the life of vehicle batteries and reduces CO2 emissions. JLR's Engineering team will use the BESS to power over 1000 hours of testing, saving approximately 1,494kg of CO2 per year. Developing second-life batteries is crucial for achieving JLR's carbon net zero target by 2039.
